Brinkley 07-56

My name is Brinkley.  I was not with GRRIN long before Bud and Marion met me and knew that they could not live without me.  They say that I have brought some “spice” to their lives – I think that’s a good thing!  I have gone to obedience school and learned how to behave and my new family takes me on lots of walks.  I am pretty spoiled, which I don’t mind at all.  I am so happy to have found my forever home.

Sammie 07-52

My name is Sammie and most of my past has been a complete mystery to those who know me.  I’ve had at least several homes, and at one time I was adopted from the Humane Society.  Even though the road was rough it was well worth it to get the home I’m in now.  They say I’ll never have to leave, and they have spoiled me every day that I’ve been here.  Right away they went to the pet store and bought me several beautiful dog beds.  Somehow even those weren’t enough for a princess such as myself.  This thing they call a couch seems to do the trick, and I’m even letting Sarah and Matt share it with me.  My favorite thing is cuddling with them.  I also love my frequent car rides, long walks, back yard chases with the neighborhood rabbits, and frosty paws ice cream treats!  I’m still getting used to my forever-home, because every time the toaster oven rings I run to the door thinking someone is here to see me!  Thank You, GRRIN!

Murphy 07-54

My name is Murphy and I am a beautiful golden-colored Golden Girl.  My first family had me since I was just a little pup, 5 years ago.  They said they don’t have time for me now and think I may have developed an allergy which is why I licked at my front leg until I got a “hot spot".  I lived for awhile with a nice foster home and learned what a cat was!  They had another Golden and I pretty much ignored him as I would rather pay attention to the humans in the house.

Then one day this very nice couple came to visit me and they brought their other GRRIN-rescued dog, Kelly.  I insisted they pet me until I said it was OK to stop.  Well, they didn’t have to think about it for too long because the very next day they called my foster mom and dad and said they wanted to adopt me forever!  (I think I already knew that!)  Now I live at my new forever-home with Keith and Kim Smith and Kelly, (the other) Golden, and a couple of cats.  We all get along and I love my new home.  Thanks for the happy ending!

Daisey 07-37

Hi my name is Daisey. I came into GRRIN when my prior owner needed to simplify her life. The transition was a bit difficult because I was formerly an outside dog. I was a shy girl, and toys and stairs were brand new to me.  While I was being fostered by Sarah, I met a brand new buddy in Sarah's other Golden, Dublin.  Sarah, Dublin, and Daisey-Bear (as Sarah calls me because of my face having a gentle teddy bear-like appearance), are now a forever-family.  Sarah proudly adopted me in the month of August.

George 03-16

My name is George, and I've been with my human Bill for two months now. This is the 4th home I've had in three years, but Bill told me I can stay here forever! It's really a great life here! I get to go to lots of places with Bill. Sometimes we go to the store, or to visit friends; but the destination doesn't really matter—doing it TOGETHER is the best part; besides, riding in the Blazer is FUN! (I like the driver's seat the best.) Bill understands me, and I think I've got his routine down now. I bark a little when I'm hungry, or when I want to go outside, or when I want to go for a ride. The rest of the time I'm pretty laid back and quiet, just thankful to finally be HOME. I watch TV with Bill, and we go for walks. And when he has to be at work during the week, Grandpa Jim comes over at lunchtime to let me out and be with me for awhile. So I'm not lonely. I'm finally relaxing into a nice life.

Mac 07-07

My name is Mac and I was a sick dog when I was surrendered to GRRIN. I hadn't been to the vet since I was a puppy and I'm 4 years old now. I spent that time in the yard and I picked up just about every worm there is, including heartworm. So GRRIN's first goal was to make me healthy again. John and Gay took very good care of me and I got a clean bill of health. Then I went to Elbert's to learn how to get along with other dogs since I didn't have any experience with that. I learned quickly and even passed my Canine Good Citizen test. Then Sherry and Benji came to meet me. Benji and I hit it off right away and he wanted me to be a part of their family. Unfortunately, their other dogs weren't so sure they wanted a brother. After several meetings, they decided it would be O.K. and I came to live with them. I'm so excited to be in their family. Benji spends lots of time throwing the ball for me and when I get tired, I love stretching out on the couch and getting stroked.

Buddy AKA Bubba 07-25

My name is Bubba, and I'm a smaller dog then when I came into GRRIN.  I was 108 pounds and at last check I am now 90 pounds.  I may be even less than that now.  I'm a good dog.  I know how to sit, down, sit up, speak, whisper, carry bags or sacks for my Mom.  I'm' a little sound sensitive but am a very sweet handsome gentleman.  I make Carol smile every day and I felt a connection from the moment she picked me up at the vet.  My thyroid is now in the high normal range with my meds and the wart on my eye and the back of my head are gone and I am just a big healthy happy dog.  I love everyone and any dog that comes over to play. I'm a gentle giant.  I can not imagine my life without Carol.  We were a perfect fit from the start.

Rosie (07-13)

Rosie has been adopted by Gary and Shannon. The foster mom met Shannon at Gold Rush this year and knew it was a perfect match! Her new forever mom has a gentle, sweet personality just like Rosie. Shannon is home with Rosie all day and if she does go somewhere Rosie usually goes in the car with her. Rosie has had tremendous improvement in her separation anxiety. She has new cat friends in her home and is trying to convince them to play with her. She is also asking her new mom for another golden friend some day! Lana Kinnear was Rosie's Golden Angel.

Maybea “Mabes” AKA Misty (07-35)

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be living as an inside dog. I used to live in an outdoor kennel my whole life until recently when Merry and Ken adopted me. I’m helping to fill the void left from the loss of their Golden Retriever, Flash. No one can ever replace him, and it sounds like I’ve got mighty big paws to fill! Luckily they love me just the way I am. I have a pool to swim in, and I get to go on a lot of walks. Harley, another GRRIN dog, lives right next door to me so we get to play together often.

Pumpkin (06-47)

I was left at a vet's by a lady who had been given me as a present by her "ex" boyfriend. Neither wanted me anymore. The vet contacted a GRRIN member and I came into rescue. I was four months old at the time and was fostered by Barb and Peter. Because of Barb's expertise with raising puppies and my high intelligence, I was housetrained, learned my manners and several commands very quickly. I found my "forever" home with Diane who fell in love with me immediately! We go on long walks together daily and I have made friends with the neighbor dog. Diane and I even went on vacation together to Minnesota recently. Thank you GRRIN, especially Barb and Peter, for helping me find such a good home!

Britt (03-51)

I was already adopted through GRRIN in 2003, but unfortunately my family had to give me up. My foster family was so good to me, but I can’t tell you how excited I am to have my new home. They say I’ll be staying put, except for car rides with my new family! I’m so spoiled as an only pet. Abbi and Lauren are my constant play mates. Two legged friends seem just has fun as my four legged friends from recent memory. We go on walks, play fetch, have story time every night, and they brush me too. I have a huge yard, and my parents are home most of the time.

Winston (07-16)

My Mom loved me to pieces, but decided that apartment living wasn’t good enough for me. She knew I wanted my own fenced in yard to play in. I will never forget her or how she cared for me. I have a new home with Kathryn and Bruce and their two girls. I’m their only pet so I get lots of attention. I have many new toys, but for some reason I try to eat socks and other things that “don’t belong to the dog”. My new family laughs at how I like to watch TV. Anytime an animal is on the screen my nose is just inches away. I watch intently until they are gone.

Daisy (07-09)

I'm 6 years old and a perfect 70 pounds. My family was splitting up so I needed to find a new home. My favorite thing in the world is chasing the beam of a flashlight. Playing in a kid's swimming pool or a sprinkler are other things I enjoy. I'm a smart girl because I know a few commands and I can open gates! After just a few weeks in my foster home with Terry and Lori, this great couple came to meet me and brought me home with them. Wayne and Linda thoroughly enjoy having me in their family. They like it that I'm laid back and relax with them. But they also gave me this great new fuzzy soccer ball and we all love to play with it. Linda says I'm a joy to have around. I say it's a joy to be in their family.

Jasmine (07-02)

My name is Jasmine and I'm about one year old. I was happy when GRRIN rescued me because I lived with 12 other dogs at a breeder's house. I was kept in an indoor kennel and didn't get much attention. A couple of the other dogs and I tried to escape a few times and that's why I was given to GRRIN. Because I hadn't had much experience in the world, I was a bit shy when I came to my foster home, but Beth and her friend, Scout, took good care of me and gave me lots of attention. Then a wonderful family came to meet me and took me home with them. I was pretty nervous at first, but Kelly and Matthew took turns sitting quietly beside me until I felt comfortable. I still get nervous sometimes, but I know there are people here to protect me. I love to play with balls and frisbees and I enjoy chewing on nylabones and stuffed toys. Two of my jobs are to wake Kelly and Matthew up every morning and to watch for the school bus. Those are some of my favorite times. Watching squirrels playing in the yard is fun, too. After spending my first year in a kennel, this seems like heaven to me. Thank you Bruce, Kathy, Matthew and Kelly for making me a part of your family.

Sam AKA Rodney (07-06)

I'm Sam (formerly Rodney) and I'm about two years old.  I'm a bit of a mystery man.  I wandered onto a farm in northeast Nebraska and the farmer liked me a lot.  However, I chased his wife's cats and she didn't like that.  So I went to the Northeast Nebraska Humane Society.  I was there for a couple months and shared an outdoor kennel with a great guy named Toby.  The nice people there thought that GRRIN might be able to find a good home for me.  Chris was supposed to take me to a new home, but she fell in love with me which is very understandable since I'm such a great guy.  So now I'm living with Bill, Chris and Charlie.  Charlie and I are getting to be better friends every day and I'm learning not to chase the cats that live outside.  I'd never been in a house before and lots of things scared me, like doors, floors, stairs, and all the strange noises.  It was overwhelming at first, but I'm so smart that it hasn't taken me very long to figure things out.  I spend my time going on walks, playing with Charlie and the humans and sleeping on a soft pillow.  I really like being part of a loving family. Thanks, GRRIN!

Lexie (06-21)

I have had entirely too many homes for being just over a year old! I was such a sweet puppy, but I had a bit of bad luck. Most homes just didn’t end up having enough time to spend with me. I guess it was really good luck that I was given up to GRRIN since I have a lot of years left to be spoiled. I have now become the center of attention in my new home with Michelle and Dave. I go on lots of walks and get trips in the car. These trips sometime end up at the dog park. Everyone who has met me falls in love. I’m getting love and giving it in return too. I even share the house with another furry 4 legged cat whose name is Lola. For some reason she isn’t fond of my “chase the cat” game I enjoy.

Molly (06-44)

Molly is a beautiful one-year-old with a loving disposition. Her first owners kept her in a small pen in the yard where she was very lonely. A concerned neighbor rescued Molly and asked GRRIN to help. Molly's new mom Kimberly works from home, and Molly rarely leaves her side! Molly also has two new golden sisters, Tess and Abby. The three dogs love to play, and they sleep snuggled together in a pile. Congratulations to Molly and her forever family!

Maddie (06-38)

I’m so happy to be with my new family, and I hear they feel the same about me. I was a stray. A local shelter turned me over to GRRIN, because I was so stressed in the shelter. I get to go on a lot of walks and car rides. I love playing with my stuffed animals and rope toys too. I’ll do about anything for a treat! I have lots of love to share with everyone I meet.

Sandy (06-12)

My name is Sandy. It took me a while, but I finally found the perfect home. I’m spoiled as an only pet! I lived for almost 6 years in an outdoor kennel with very few possessions or attention. Now I get to go on walks, play fetch, go for car rides, and I’ll be traveling too. My new Mom even made me my own blanket that I like to carry around.

Buddy formerly Robbie (06-39)

Hi! I used to be called Robbie, and I didn’t have a permanent home for awhile. Now my name is Buddy, and I have an exciting new home! My new family is very busy, which I really like. All the people that come by the house like to pet me! I was a bit sick when I first got here, but I am feeling much better. I had forgotten what it was like to have cats around, but I am remembering quickly with a bit of help. One of the cats already seems to like me.

Everyone can tell I am only two since I am always carrying around my baby blanket and a pillow (usually at the same time). I love to go walk the kids to and from school, have free roam of the house, and I enjoy all the squirrels in the back yard. I stay busy bringing mom things to put away, and enjoying all the attention from the kids. Thanks to my foster family and GRRIN for taking care of me and helping me fond my new home!

Lucky (06-37)

Hi, I’m Lucky – in many ways! I've been adopted by Hal and Mary and their son Abram. I’ve adapted so well to my new family -- they’re a lot of fun. We like to go on long walks, play fetch in the backyard, and I’m even learning some new tricks. We like to go to the dog park with my cousin Wally who’s a Boxer -- talk about wide-open-spaces -- we love to run and run and run! Everyone who meets me says I’m just a sweetheart -- I have everyone wrapped around my little paw. My new family says they are very lucky to have found me. I guess I’m just LUCKY!

Max (06-32)

As soon as I met my foster parents and pushed my nose into their laps, I knew that they were good people. Tim and Nikki picked me up from the Vets office and took me to their home. There was another Golden there. Harry and I hit it off right away. It took a little longer to get to know their two other dogs, Roxanne and Anna, but I grew to love them, too. Even though they’re smaller than me I try to remember that they’re in charge. Steve the cat was a bit scary to me at first, but I now know to give her the space she needs. At least most of the time. Joel is a teenage boy that plays with me, and I adore visits from Brooklyn (the 1-year-old Granddaughter of Tim and Nikki). I always make sure that her face is clean when she is around me. Well, after more than two months of bonding with both animals and humans, I get to make my foster family my forever home! Tim and Nikki decided that they can’t live without me, and I feel the same way. I’m so happy that I get to share all of my energy with them and continue to get the structure, exercise, love and attention that I need. I hear that I’m going to try to be a Therapy Dog, and perhaps participate in agility events! Life is good!

Lucy (06-34)

I’m Lucy Lu, and I had to find a new home because the 7 year old that cared for me was suffering from severe allergies. I’ve made myself right at home with my new parents, and their kids Kari, Aaron and Brian. They laugh at me because I carry my stuffed puppy all around the house like it’s my baby. I even sleep with it! Another favorite toy is my squeaky football. I act a little goofy running around the back yard making it squeak. I love going on walks, playing Frisbee, chasing my tail, and getting tummy rubs. I sleep with Kari and I love to cuddle and give kisses. I miss my young companion, but I’m so happy to have met an entire family that adores me!
